Meet the Team
Brent Devenney- Brent Devenney moved to Vermont in 1999 to help plant Daybreak Community Church. He became Lead Pastor in 2008 when founding pastor Robby Pitt moved to Burbank, CA and transitioned back to Associate Pastor in 2018 with the arrival of Jesse Mark. Along with being in ministry for the past 20 years, Brent continues to work as an oncology RN at the University Medical Center. Brent and his wife, Lori, reside in Essex with their children Kaitlin, Carter, Ryan, and Annika.
Shaun Stotyn- Shaun is the Worship Pastor at Daybreak Community Church. He has been serving at Daybreak since 2006. He also works as a campus missionary through the North American Mission Board with college students and young adults at the University of Vermont, St Michael's College, and Champlain College as well as recent grads. He married Monica in May of 2011. They live in Winooski, Vermont. They have two children, Cadence Mae and Ransom.
Steve Maxfield- Steve has graciously accepted the role of Interim Assistant Pastor at Daybreak Church beginning January 1, 2026, serving during this transitional season until a new Lead Pastor is called. Working alongside Assistant Pastors Brent and Shaun, Steve will assist with ministry leadership, provide pastoral counseling, and preach once a month. Native Vermonters, Steve and his wife, Phyllis, have been part of Daybreak for four years. They have been married for 54 years and have two adult children and two adult grandchildren. We are thankful for his servant’s heart and Phyllis's support as they serve alongside our church family.
